So, as I mentioned above, we've had a very exciting month. Our girl has decided that it is time to begin crawling! Oh yes friends, this little girl can move. She has the sweetest crawl I have ever seen. So unique. She uses her right leg to push herself forward. (I'll have to try and capture it on video!) It's the funniest thing. Earlier in the month she was scooting everyhere, and about mid month it just clicked. So you know what that means. Time to baby proof.
This has also made sleeping in her crib very interesting. I had Jose move her crib to the third level and that lasted about 3 days. Ella was playing so hard in her crib that it fell down to the lowest level. I almost had a heart attack when I heard it on the monitor. So, we decided to leave it on the lowest level because she is already trying to pull up to standing position. I thought she was crazy when she was sitting up in her crib, standing is going to be a whole new level of CRAZY! I have a feeling I may have a walker before she's one. This scares me a bit and I feel like she is growing up way too fast.
This month has been great in the sleep department. I don't really want to say it out loud, but she is finally sleeping through the night. Gosh that took awhile. It's so nice to get a good nights sleep. I hope this continues. Naps are still excellent in the morning, about 2 hours, but short in the afternoon. This works out great for me because it means she is in bed by 6:45. It gives me a chance to make Jose and I dinner and get caught up on laundry and other household chores.
Ella still adores bath time with her Dada. I think it may be time for her to sit in the tub. She tries to crawl out of her tub and is all over the place. I love that Jose and Ella have this special time each night. I love to just sit in our room and listen to them play and talk. By the sound of Ella's giggles, she is having a blast spending time with her Dad. This photo really shows Ella hair coming in. She's such a baldie! For a child with two parents with TONS of hair, I thought she'd have way more by now. Hopefully it starts coming in soon!
Ella loves playing in the living room with all of her toys. She is so content to just sit and play on her own. This makes me so happy. Now that she's crawling, she has begun to venture out into the kitchen and by the stairs. I know as the days go on, she's only going to get more adventurous. I better watch out!
Meghan had us over for her son Donovan's first birthday. What a beautiful day. She put so much work into making his day so special and it was just that. We all love this little man so much and I know Ella and Dono are going to be friends for years to come. Happy 1st Birthday Donovan.
She's also decided that she wants to hold her bottle on her own. Don't get in this girls way when it comes to eating. As soon as she seems her milk, she drops everything, including her Nuk, and wines! It's so nice because she can hold it on her own. I hope this skill perfects as the months progress.
Ella also loves her sippy cup this month. I fill it with cold water and she absolutly loves it. I love it because it doesn't leak. She can toss it around and not a drip! This has also been really nice for milk. If I need to give her some milk in the car or in her crib(YES I do it!!) she is as happy as can been slurping away.
I love this photo! We were in Target and she started getting a little fussy. So I opened up an Ella's and she chowed down. Ella eating Ella's! Pretty cute if you ask me.
She is still a wonderful eater. She has 4, 6 ounce bottles of milk a day and eats solids for breakfast and dinner. We've tried everything appropriate for her age and the foods recommended by her Pediatrician. She did mention that she DIDN'T want Ella to eat Puffs until she was 9 months old. Well . . . . I made an executive decision and gave her some Puffs. She LOVES them and has no problem eating and swallowing them.
Ella still only has two teeth, wears size 3 diapers, weighs about 17 pounds, and wears size 6-9 month clothes.
This sweet girl is the love of my life and I feel so blessed to call her my daughter. Te amo Bella!
Here are a few more pics from our shot. Enjoy.
