10 Months

Ella Catherine is 10 Months Old!

This month has proved to be another exciting one for our sweet girl, although I feel like I don't have much new to report. Ella continues to be a super happy and easy baby. We're so lucky!

The one thing Jose and I have really noticed this month is that Ella is in to EVERYTHING! She is almost walking, so as you can imagine she is up and on anything she can reach. She loves getting the toilet paper in our powder room downstairs. If I forget to shut the door, changes are you'll find her in there. She is still putting everything in her mouth, so this makes things interesting when she has a mouthful on wet toilet paper. I can't imagine it tasting very good, but she seems to love it!

Ella finally discovered that she can open the cabinets in the kitchen. Her favorite is the cabinet with all the tubberware. The days of an organized tubberware cabinet are gone. I love that this is her favorite, because I don't have to worry about her getting into anything too dangerous before Jose places child locks on all the cabinets. Just look at that guilty face!

She also has no problem diving into her toy basket in the living room to get her toys out. I know one of these days she is going to fall right in. I love that she is so independent. She plays so well on her own, which allows Mama to get many things done around the house. Gotta love that!

I did say she only likes the Tubberware cabinet right? Well... pots and pans too. Daddy may need to get the child locks on this weekend!

Ella sure does love her Daddy. She is still only saying, Dada, Papa, and Baba. I'm still waiting for Mama! She will sit with her Dad any time and watch TV with him. She loves sports ( soccer mostly) and John Stewart. It's so funny. Jose watches the Daily Show each night and she thinks it's the funniest thing. I think it's because the audience laughs and she just mimics them laughing. She's been doing that like crazy lately. Laughing when people laugh, or crying when she hears another baby cry. It's pretty remarkable.

As far as eating and sleeping go, she is a champ! She still takes two naps a day and sleeps through the night! Her naps range from 1.5 hours to 2 hours and she's in bed by 7:30. She is an early riser (5:45ish) which is really hard, but we make it work. It gives me some time to play with her before I head off to work at 7:15. It makes getting ready a bit challenging, but we totally manage.

Ella is an awesome eater! I haven't found a food she doesn't like. She will eat anything I give her and a lot of it. She is definitely a meat and cheese girl like her Mom and Dad. I feel so blessed to have a child who will eat anything. I hope it sticks!

Jose weighed her a few days ago and she was about 21.5 pounds. She is wearing 12 month clothes and can even wear some 18 months pants/shorts/skirts/jammies. She is super long, so they fit perfectly.

She wants nothing to do with her headbands. As soon as I place it on her head, she rips it off unless I distract her. When she finally realizes it's there, off it goes. I hate it because my sweet girl still doesn't have much hair. It's definitely growing, but not at the rate I was expecting. Hopefully I can put a bow in he hair on her first birthday!

It was impossible for us to get a good pic this month. Ella would not sit still. I guess it truly captures her personality right now. I think we need to move away from her rocking chair next month. Let's just say it isn't the safest picture spot anymore!

Get me off this chair!

Really Mom?

Finally! Can I take a break and read my book?

Ok, back up I go. Ohhhhh, I have a bow in my hair.

Are we done yet? I think this is the best you're going to get Mom!

Our little girl is growing up so fast. We love her so much and love every minute we have together. We love you Ella Catherine. Thank you for blessing us with your life and love.

A Day at the Park

A few weekends ago (yes, I know I'm behind) Jose, Ella, and I met my Mom and two nephews Garin and Grayson at Kit Carson Park for a picnic. We have been coming to this park for years, and it is the first time we have had a chance to bring Ella. The weather was beautiful considering we have had some weird rainy San Diego days the past several months. Ella was SO excited and ready for the fun!

Here she is, ready to go! We recently bought a City Mini Jogger and she (we) absolutely love it. I am also so shocked that she kept her hat on. Lately she immediately rips off any headband, bow, or hat that I attempt to place on her head. I'm a huge fan of bows and bands so this has been driving me nuts. I'm so glad she decided to keep her hat on today. She's pretty adorable if you ask me!

My Mom went to McDonald's for the boys and Jose and I packed some sandwiches and snacks for Ella.
We found the perfect picnic table and had a wonderful lunch together.

Ella was so excited to be sitting on the grass with her sippy cup and snacks. After lunch we hit the swings and slide. We tried to put Ella in a swing when she was about 5 months old and she wanted  nothing to do with it. Well, as you can see, she LOVED it this time. Garin was a big help and pushed her for most of the time. You can see him in the background. Ella is so lucky to have two cousins who love her dearly.

Now it was time for the slide. She was a bit scared the first time, but warmed up after a few rides. Jose was a great sport and went along for the ride!

I love this sweet girl so much and have loved all the new adventures we have shared as a new family.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
